Terms & Conditions

There aren't many conditions for the insurance, but the main ones are that drivers must...

  • be over 21 & under 75,
  • have held a full UK driving licence for at least one year,
  • have no more than one endorsement in the last five years, &
  • have no more than one claim or accident in the last five years.

A few other things you need to think about...

Please note that reception at Chew Valley Caravan Park is open normal office hours of 9.30am to 5.00pm. If you want to make a booking outside of these hours you will need to email the details to with at least 24 hours notice.

If your booking ends after reception closes, park the car in the car park & leave the keys in the feedback box next to reception.

If you want a booking to start out of hours, you must arrange this with reception at the earliest opportunity & such arrangements are at the discretion of the park & are not guaranteed. If you have made such an arrangement then you must uphold it otherwise you will lose the facility for the future.

Bookings are made on a first come, first served basis.

Email bookings must be made with at least 24 hours notice & the booking is not guaranteed until you receive a confirmation by email. This is to allow us time to check that the car is available.

As we have only one car, please consider others when you cancel a booking. Bookings which are cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are still chargeable at the usual rates. If you fail to collect the car for a booking then you will be charged at the usual rate.

It is your responsibility to inform us of changes to your information such as a new address, payment card details or accidents & penalties which are incurred from the use of other vehicles. If your information is not valid or is out of date then any costs incurred including anything which is not covered by insurance due to out of date information will be your responsibility & may leave you liable to prosecution.

You must provide the details of a payment card which will be stored & charged should be involved in an accident or otherwise damage the car. There is an excess charge of £500 which is payable in the event of damage, an accident or theft of the car. This charge will be made in full on the return of the car & should the costs incurred be less than the charge then a refund of the difference made once any repair or claim is settled. There is an optional excess waiver which reduces the excess cost & will be discussed during the booking procedure.

Bishop Sutton Car Club is not liable for any loss or damage to your property and in making a booking with us, you free and relieve Bishop Sutton Car Club of any claim arising out of hiring the car.

In the unlikely event that the car becomes unavailable at short notice (such as for essential cleaning or maintenance), Bishop Sutton Car Club will refund any associated amount which has already been paid for bookings have already been made, but Bishop Sutton Car Club not liable for any additional costs resulting from the car being unavailable or for the costs of hiring an alternative.

The price will be quoted at the time of booking & will be maintained, subject to there being no change to the details of the booking or changes to the regulatory or tax regimes in force.

The car should be returned with the same amount of petrol as when you first took it. If you are found to have not topped up the fuel then your card will be charged at a rate of 30p per mile for your booking. This is simply to cover costs.

We endeavour to maintain the website & the information contained on it. We reserve the right to make any changes without notice. E&OE.

Dogs are not allowed in the hire car.

We collect data for use internally in connection with your hire booking. Where you give us your communication details you acknowledge that this may be used to receive future communications from us about the car & the club. We do not share your data with other parties except when requested to do so by legal authorities.

Should you have cause for complaint, please advise the caravan park staff in reception immediately, so that the complaint can be investigated & action taken. If the staff are not available, or if you are not satisfied with the action taken, you should put your comments in writing, within 14 days of your booking to: Customer Care Manager, Bishop Sutton Car Club, Melborough House, Ham Lane, Bishop Sutton, BS39 5TZ. We will endeavour to send a response within seven working days.

The contract will be governed by English Law.
